The recent news that Max Buda is still alive & playing surprised even Max Buda.

Max Sr.

After all, he has been regularly playing and recording since 1966 with little letup.  No doubt part of his longevity can be attributed to his father Max Sr., the legendary European film director – a 2009 exhumation confirmed their DNA match as well as two previously unknown sisters.

Constantly performing in different ensembles and settings, Max decided in 2010 to record the Max Buda Band in studio settings and has every year since then issued an album which he distributed to friends and relatives for the holidays.

As there are now 16 of these albums, the decision has been made to make them available to critics and anyone who might be interested hearing them.  Overall they reflect much of the philosophy that guided the 1960’s “Kaleidoscope” of which Max was an important part.  A few feature some of that band’s alumni ( Chris Darrow, Stu Brotman, Richard Aplanap) but mostly all spotlight the regular members for a decade of the Max Buda Band.  There are blues, rock, jazz, country, movie themes,  and a few of the albums have distinctive “themes” but mostly all are packed with off the wall versions of somewhat familiar material.

Here are the official titles of the albums to this date.
